goal

I have been really soul- searching the past few months as to what direction I want to go in my life. What goals I am eager to achieve, and ultimately what would be best for my family in today's world. As most of you know, we are getting ready to pack up in our camper and wander for a while. Which, I believe  will be an amazing opportunity for my family to grow as one. For Logan and I's relationship to strengthen, and overall a cherished time in our lives. However, the realities of our world are going to slowly creep in after a few months on the road, and I want to be prepared with goals, and options that I can be excited about.

I have always wanted to live "in the country" ever since I was a little girl, and we would vacation to the family "farm" house in eastern North Carolina. As I got older, this dream got bigger, and in more realistic reasoning. The idea of self sustaining my family, having a close relationship to the land, the reward of hard work, the opportunity to spend quality time with my family through out the day. This is definetly a goal i wish to achieve, or start achieving in the next 5  years.

I also have been really interested in natural healing. Whether it  be through therapeutic massage, homeopathy, etc. When I was working as a nanny for my nephew, his mother told me more than one time, that I have a very calm spirit about me. She told me that i reminded her of her midwife, and asked if I had ever thought of going into midwifery as a career? I had not, but it definetly got me thinking. I suppose I had not ever really been around many midwifes, or people using midwifes. As I researched and thought of it, I couldn't help but be intrigued. I have found some really good resources, and learning opportunities. I am looking forward to really meditating on the idea of perusing a life as a midwife.

(nora, a couple years ago, excuse the cigarette butt)

I actually found a midwifery program that specializes in holistic midwifery-with a bit of homeopathy included. Which is pretty stinkin' awesome. :)

Beyond goals, ideas, and opportunities. We are slowly getting things together. The camper is just about finished. We are now aiming to leave this weekend, if all goes well.

a bug catching adventure collage

Yes. We had an absolute blast! We got all dressed up, and paraded around the neighborhood with our puffy skirts, and our bug nets. Needless to say, we didn't catch any bugs. ;)

carry on..

As we are getting things in line to move, parting with the ramp is a large part of it. As of yesterday, the mini ramp went home with it's proud new owners.

Carry on Mini Ramp you will forever be remembered...

Playing Catch Up

Time has been flying by. This and that, this and that. July 1st already?! Where did spring go?

Logan and I had a scary situation occer yesterday. Nora had gotten ahold of her piggy bank and started choking on a coin of some sort. Luckily she was able to swallow it, and after we had called the sqaud, headed to the emergancy room, and had a x-ray done, we realized it was successfully in her stomach, and it would just pass on through.

Emotions were every where yesterday, and boy does that wear you out! God is with us, and keeps Nora in His hands. I am SOOO thankful to be spending another day with Nora. Let us truely count our blessings and be thankful for each day.

Thank you Jesus for today! And for being able to enjoy another beautiful day with Nora Lane. Praise You!

Saturday Snapshot

It has been so fun doing a "Saturday Snapshort" with Kim from Yellow Songbird the past weeks. Here is a snapshot of Nora playing with her doll house.

Story Time

I am so blessed to have a library so close to where we live. We live just about fifteen minutes away from a town, however there is a very small community about five minutes away. I say community because, well, they don't have a grocery store, or a school, all that is there is a library, a post office, and a volunteer fire house. This library is probably one of the best I've been to. Not in it's size, but it's content and the childrens library. Every Wednesday they offer a story time.

All the children gather on these wooden bleachers to hear a few stories.

This particular day was Dr. Suess' birthday, so that was the theme of the day. After reading Green Eggs and Ham, and Red Fish Blue Fish they went to the craft room.

After the craft, the librarian asked the children if they would "eat them in a library"?

Nora ate the ham, but she wasn't going to be eating green eggs anywhere! ;)

This is Nora post-story time. I think she enjoyed herself.

my closet...

Okay, so a few hours turned into a couple days, however, it is finally organized. I am delighted to share with you my creation closet ;)

There it is. Once upon a time I was out with my grandmother and I had been selfishly complaining that I didnt have anywhere to set up my sewing machine, without having to take it down and put it up with every use. Well it had been a known issue, however I come home that very day and little did I know Logan had been home building a table, and setting up my very own sewing closet. It was such wonderful surprise.

It's about that time.
